INFO:

Nanami was a key figure for the Japan national team throughout the late 1990s and during the early part of this century. He made his J-League debut at Jubilo in 1995 and played for the club for four years before joining Serie A side Venezia for one season in 1999. Nanami returned to Jubilo the following year and had a short spell at Cerezo Osaka in 2006 before joining Tokyo Verdy on loan in 2007. He made his return to Jubilo Iwata in 2008, and has announced his retirement in November 2008 after being dogged by a knee injury in recent years.

I got my impression of him from the time he played for Venezia in Serie A a very good midfielder, pretty fast on the first few meters, able to defend the ball in small spaces, great reactions and an amazing crosser, his crosses always created trouble for the opposide defenders. In my opinion one of the best japanese players ever.

He earned 67 caps for Japan between 1995 and 2001 , scoring 9 goals
