INFOPetar Kanchev Hubchev (born 26 February 1964) is a Bulgarian football manager and former player. He became one of the best defenders in the Bundesliga after his move to Bundesliga club Hamburger SV at the beginning of 1994. The Bulgarian international, who was already almost thirty years old when he moved to Hamburg, interprets the libero role more like the classic "sweeper" ("Willi Schulz-style sweeper"). The confident defensive organiser is also an elegant player with excellent technique, overview and great playing potential. An athletic and very robust defender. In apparent contrast to his technical skills, he is uncompromising and at times relentlessly tough in tackles. Due to his heading and tackling strength, he can also be used as a man-marker. He began playing at Osam, competing in the B group. In Lovech Hubchev recorded 250 games. In 1989 he was sold to Levski Sofia, where he played until 1994 with his new team became champion in 1992/93 and played till 1994. They won two cups of the country (1991 and 1992). In 1993 he was elected Footballer of Bulgaria № 2. For the club has 29 games and 2 goals for the national cup and 9 matches in European tournaments (4 European Cup, 4 for the SSC and 1 UEFA). His first game in the national team of Bulgaria is on April 25, 1984 against Greece as the player of Osam. Peter Hubchev is member of the Bulgarian national team, which won a bronze medal at the World Cup in the U.S. in 1994 (played in 7 games). In 1996 part of the European Championships in England (in 2 games). His last match for the national team is on 1 September 1996 against Israel (1:2) in Tel Aviv. Total played 35 games and scored 1 goal. After the World Cup in 1994 is attracted to the German team Hamburger SV, which participates in the league of "Bundesliga". Hubchev even has captaincy of the team. In 1997 goes to another German team - Eintracht (Frankfurt), where he ended his career as a footballer. In Bundesliga Hubchev played 128 games and record 5 goals. In the Second Bundesliga record 44 matches and scored 2 goals. In 2002 was appointed assistant coach of the Bulgarian national team, led by then Plamen Markov. With Hubchev and Markov team qualified for the European Championships in Portugal in 2004. The European Bulgaria suffered failure after three consecutive losses and last place in the preliminary group, then coach Markov was replaced by a Bulgarian football legend Hristo Stoichkov. Hubchev remains an assistant coach and in early 2005 combines this position with the post of head coach in Slavia (Sofia). Coach of VfL Wolfsburg 2 - and team / 2008 / Chernomorets - Pomorie / 2009. Peter Hubchev was elected player of the century in Lovech after a poll among local journalists and sports figures.
