As well as HIDDEN SKILS as PLAYMAKING and TACTICAL DRIBBLING, should be added, as was a technical player with a good dribble, and therefore able to "hide" the ball to the opponents. And capable of so many assists

INFO:
Perhaps, in football, he could achieve much more: the champion of Europe among the youth teams and the performance of the Italian "Inter" in the year when the club won the UEFA Cup does not look to the ceiling Igor Shalimov. But later some obstacles, he built himself, some have been built independently of him ...
In 17 years Shalimov debuted in the major league championship of the USSR, but also spectacular ball into the goal "Torpedo" (incidentally, this is the "youngest" Spartak goal in the national championships) did not guarantee space at the heart of "Spartacus." Only in 1988, Konstantine Beskov began to produce him on the field constantly. In the team's leaders, he and Aleksandr Mostovoy is already out in the 90th, when France went Fyodor Cherenkov and Sergey Rodionov. In that season he was included in the USSR team at the World Cup, and this he has added confidence.
He could become the best Russian player in the 90s. After several memorable seasons in "Spartacus" in 1991 Shalimov beautifully made his debut in Serie A in the "Foggia".
Provincial "Foggia" in the season debut of "A" series, and coached not then known Zdenek Zeman Czech specialist, famous for his love of physical training instead of training with the ball.
In that season, "Foggia" sensationally long kept in the standings to third place, but eventually handed over the position and finished ninth. Igor Shalimov, consistently played the entire season based on (the best right midfielder in the championship version Gazetta della sport), 9-ball has become the third scorer after attacking duo Francesco Bayano (16) - Giuseppe Signori (11). In the first year he becomes the best legionary of the Serie A - Milan's transition to the "Inter" was a logical move. Shalimov, perhaps, one of the few of our legionaries, who managed the first club to go to the club above the rank. "Inter" cost 11 million dollars (14 billion pounds) - crazy money for the early 90's. Shalimov will still be the most expensive Russian. At that time it was the second most expensive transfer of Italian football (only Roberto Baggio was worth more then - 25.000.000.000, but, say, Diego Maradona, Paul Gascoigne or Ruud Gullit treated to new owners "only" 13 billion).
With the "Inter", he signed a contract for four years. At a time when Igor moved to Milan "Inter" in the Italian "A" series generally operated - no more than three foreigners on the field at the same time. Before the 1992/93 season in the application of such a black and blue, in addition to Shalimov, there were four more foreign players: Matthias Sammer and Lothar Matthaus, Macedonian Darko Pancev and Uruguayan Ruben Sosa. Nevertheless, the Russian firm staked position as the left central midfield, always appearing in the main part of a "Nerazzurri". In the course of the season injured Matthaus and not adapt in Seria A Sammer returned to their historical homeland (in the "Bavaria" and Dortmund "Borussia", respectively), while Pancev game did not go. Therefore, in the season, no problem with the limit on foreigners, Igor did not feel, the more so because of his game, he won a year earlier confirmed the reputation of being one of the best attacking midfielder "A" series. In that season Shalimov scored 9 goals, but most of them were not critical, except, perhaps, double the match with his former club - "Foggia" (15th round). Gazetta della sport then put Shalimova highest score among players of all teams that played that day - 8.5. Nevertheless, Shalimov was even more good in playmaking his partners, including leading scorer, "Inter" Sosa - 20 goals and 4th in the list of scorers Seria A. Igor himself was the second scorer in the "Inter", and overall goalscorer shared 21-26 places with "monsters" as Detari, Borgonovo, Padovano, Giannini and Jugovic. "Nerazzurri" in the season, finished second, behind only "Milan" (the gap to 4 points), with its "gold" the composition of those times (van Basten, Gullit, Rijkaard, Papen, Savicevic, Baresi, Maldini, Costacurta, etc.) .
Before the next season did not promise to the Russian midfielder lost seats in the lineup, but ... In the club came the Dutch Bergkamp and Jonk tightly staked out place at the heart of blue-black (which was written in the contract - they should go on the field together). Given the existence of "Inter" the only stable clogging forward - Uruguayan Ruben Sosa, the limit on foreign players was exhausted, and Igor was the victim of a limit on foreigners. In that season, Igor spent only half of the matches of the club in "A" series, hitting gates rivals only twice, and Milan, the club has won for itself a record shameful 13th place, but he won the UEFA Cup. Shalimov, though not played in both finals matches with the Austrian "Casino" (in the first game - because of the sudden death of his father), can also consider himself the owner of this trophy, as played half of the matches, and received the medal on the results of second leg (he was in stock). Russians made a significant contribution to that victory, scoring 2 goals (including the semi-final - Borussia Dortmund). Shalimov believes himself the victory in the UEFA Cup, the most important of the titles they won.
