In the early 90s, Tomas Brolin was the player. Versatile attacking midfielder or very technical, creative, mobile and lively second striker, this small pocket striker had a short career (ten years at the highest level, the fault of a nasty ankle injury). But forever marked the history of Swedish football. Brolin had excellent dribbling, great ball control, fat and strong but also had good explosive speed, good shooting especially from awkward angles, inventive and decent passer. A dynamic, energetic, creative and technically gifted footballer, Brolin was a world-class player in his prime,who was known for his excellent dribbling skills, as well as for his passing ability and powerful shots on goal. A versatile player, he was usually deployed as an offensive-midfield playmaker due to his ability to provide assists for teammates, but he was also used as a striker, winger, central midfielder and as a deep-lying forward throughout his career, due to his work-rate and tactical intelligence. Despite his talent in his youth, his career was affected by several injuries, which forced him into early retirement. Brolin is agile, resourceful and enthusiastic, has a quick start, good technique and is difficult to separate from the ball. He breaks away from the defender and is always dangerous. "A tireless fighter, strong, fast, uncomplicated - such players are feverishly looking for," wrote the Zurich sport.
