Fiori was a goalkeeper. He had his best time at Lazio, playing 144 matches from 1988 to 1993. He then transferred to Cagliari, where he had the chance to play also the 1993-94 UEFA Cup as first choice and appeared in a total of 99 games. He played also for Cesena, Fiorentina and Piacenza, before joining Milan in 1999. He won several trophies with the Rossoneri but as third goalkeeper. In fact, he played only 4 times during his long spell at Milan, which ended in 2008, when he retired.
A very promising goalkeeper since he was young, Fiori had great performances in his best days. However, his general consistency decreased starting from 1992. The reason why he was sold by Lazio is the fact that his last season with the club was highly disastrous. He found better times in his first year at Cagliari. Fiori was very reactive, agile, gifted with a good leap, sense of position between the posts and usually good ability in 1-on-1 situations. On the other hand, he wasn't very good out of the goal and often had problems at stopping the ball, losing it in several occasions or needing to catch it in two times, especially in troublesome situations. He occasionally made saves with his feet.
