INFO:
Galia is a former defensive and central midfielder, capable of playing also as side midfielder and side back on both sides. His career began in 1980 at Como. He joined Sampdoria in 1983, playing 103 matches in three seasons and scoring 4 goals. He transferred to Hellas Verona in 1986, making 77 appearances in two years, scoring 10 times. He eventually had his longest spell at Juventus from 1988 to 1994, playing 225 games and scoring 11 goals. After an unsuccessful season at Ascoli, he came back to Como in 1995 and retired two years later, ending up making a total of 154 matches with the Lariani, scoring 8 times. He gained 3 caps for Italy in 1992.
Praised for his versatility, great commitment and consistency as well as his remarkable physical and athletic qualities, Galia was an excellent marauder, who rushed through the opposing defence with high speed. He was right-footed but didn't dislike using the left when he had the chance and was gifted with a very good heading ability. He also possessed high tactical awareness and fine ball distribution. He wasn't a master of technique and, during his experience at Juventus, supporters often disputed when he got the ball on his feet. He rarely was spectacular and when he managed to do some tricks, the crowd was amazed. On the other hand though he understood well the game, attacked, defended and marked efficiently the opposing most advanced midfielder.
