Osio is a former attacking midfielder or secondary striker. He spent most of his career at Parma from 1987 to 1993: over 200 matches and around 40 goals. He played also for Torino, Empoli, Palmeiras and Pistoiese. He retired in 2000.
Osio was a player with a fighting temperament, considered too midfielder to play as centre forward but too attacker to be a midfielder. At the end he played as playmaker while wearing the shirt n° 9, typical of classic centre forwards. In fact he had an incredible offensive prowess. These characteristics made him become one of the best in almost every match. He was tall and thin, not very strong but gifted with an elegant touch and the ability to run with ease from one half of the field to the other. He was a complete player, effective in attack but didn't dislike helping in the center of the field, tireless, fast and reactive on balls, could deliver either short and long passes with equal accuracy, was gifted with very good technique and an excellent first time shot, was a good header and a free kick and corner specialist. It's a shame that he never capped for Italy.
