INFO:

Jose Luis Chilavert is former Paraguayan goalkeeper and one of the greatest in history, selected as the best keeper in world in in 1995,1997,1998 and 1999. A regular taker of penalties and free-kicks at both club and international level, he has enjoyed great success in his club career and was the first choice goalkeeper for his country for well over a decade. Chilavert started his club career at the age of just fifteen with his local club Esportivo Luqueño, and moved on to Guaraní three years later. He won the first major honour of his career with Guaraní when the club claimed the Paraguayan League Championship in 1984. In 1985, Chilavert moved to Argentina to join San Lorenzo and enjoyed three years with the club before a transfer to Europe took him to Spanish club Real Zaragoza in 1988.

Failing to settle in Europe, he returned to Argentina in 1991, joining Vélez Sarsfield. It was there that Chilavert enjoyed the greatest successes of his club career. Having played for Paraguay in the Copa América in both 1991 and 1993, his first major honour with Vélez came in the form of the Argentinian Closing Championship in 1993. The following year brought success in the Copa Libertadores and the Intercontinental Cup, and after a double of the Opening and Closing Championships in 1995-96 Chilavert was named Argentinian and South American Footballer of the Year.

Following a third success in the Closing Championship in 1998, Chilavert appeared in his first World Cup and was one of the best goalkeepers in the competition, helping Paraguay to reach the last sixteen where they lost narrowly to France. Two years later, he returned to France to play for Racing Club Strasbourg where he won the French Cup in his first season.

Chilavert appeared in his second World Cup in Japan and Korea in 2002, and despite missing the first game through suspension again played an important part in Paraguay's progress to the second round. Returning again to South America to play for Peñarol in 2003, it seemed that his playing career would come to an end with success in the Uruguayan League but in 2004 he decided to return to Vélez for one final year.

His AGI can be up to 78-79 , maybe he was little bid heavy but he don't lost his high fights in the corners , also i still remenber that great clearence against that free kick with Maradona.

Rosso, that's not AGI, is more like a mix of DEF+JUM+GKS..

Infact i believe more and more that AGI isn't really a key stat for goalkeepers..

El Capo how come you believe that agility is not really a key stat for goalkeepers? Playing with certain teams the agility of the goalkeepers in certain situations is crucial.

Yes, because AGI affects the mobility of the player ON the ball, not off of it..What you guys are seeing as goalkeeper agility is actually either RES, JUM or specially GKS..

Plus, you can see the pattern in PES games through the history, i'd 85% of the keepers (and that easily include world class keepers) in PES were rated below AGI 80..

This is the definition of agility that I found in Pes Editor: "Agility determines how quickly a player perform kicks, tricks and general movements. The higher it is, the more rapdly he will perform them. This is especially noticeable with first time kicks and passes."

So it is true as written El Capo, that, "AGI affects the mobility of the player ON the ball, not off of it". Even though he says the definition relation to general movements of the player.

However, people can still rate AGI as they were used to, it won't changed anything after all.

BTW since i'm watching games of Velez from the 90's especially the Copa Libertadores Champion(if the team is not created here, i will post it later), i think that the era is a little bit long, don't misunderstood me, Chila was already great in the 92/93 season, but he's real explosion(in football level terms) was when Bianchi came around the 93' i suggest put the begin of this era since 1993 or 1994, also because his FKA-CUR stats are too high(for 92-93 years) since he start to shot free kicks with that quality since the end of 1994' ( first goal of FK was maded in the match against Deportivo Español ), is better if we short the era, so the set will be more accurate, and also because the users that will search him on the forum(mostly to create Velez 94') not get confused. ;)

Also i have a different POV talking about, MEN he was a great leader one of the best around the Primera Division on those years, even when Velez was doing a bad game he was a great leader, i don't see a problem with him on 97-98.

Nice updated, but there are two problems, the era and the agi value, his fka and curl are too high for 92-93' years, his first goal (free kick) was maded in 1994, so will be wrong that the eras has the 92'-93' years, about agi, the value is weird to rate, i'm not saying that he deserved yellow values, but mainly in the first years of his Velez era he wasn't so heavy, he can control well his body in some aspects since the long shots until the 1-1 situations, probably he will deserved white values if he has a set for the years 1999-2000, i remember a match against River (2000), he was so heavy controlling his body, Saviola was a nightmare for him.

Btw some mod can unify my severals post's into a single one.

SP is clearly underrated. A keeper who made goals fro 40 mtrs deserves orange values.
