When Radomir Antić was making the great Atletico in the 90's, he realized that with Kiko and Penev in front, both players good at keeping the ball in their feet, there would be a lot of fouls on them so he needed a free kick specialist with good long balls. So he turned to Milinko Pantić, player whom he known from his time at Partizan who was in Panionios at the moment. He brought him and history was made. His many goals and countless assists brought the Atleti the very first double in 1996. In the next season he was the top scorer of the Champions League and the only Atletico player to date who achieved that. His peak lasted shortly but during that time, he was one of the best free kick takers and long ball passers in the World. Still is unknown why he was capped only twice for the national team.
