Defence MindedINFO:Walker was a goalkeeper who played most of his career for Tottenham Hotspur and Leicester City. He played 312 matches for the "Spurs" from 1989 to 2001 and 140 for the "Foxes" from 2001 and 2005. He capped 4 times for England.
Walker was an average goalkeeper. In fact he was part of England squad at the 2004 UEFA Euro as third choice. He surely took care of the goalkeeping duties but he didn't do more than that. He was strong and tall but that didn't help him when he had to catch a shot from the distance − either it was delivered to the right or left, top or bottom − because he always looked far from the ball. He could've been a better if not great goalkeeper if he wasn't just lazy, not spectacular and sometimes even awful.
