INFO:Rizzitelli is a former winger and centre forward. His career began in 1984 at Cesena, where he scored 7 goals in 58 matches, mostly in the 1987-88 Serie A season, at the end of which he transferred to Roma. He played 211 games in six seasons with the
Giallorossi, scoring 55 goals. His main position at Cesena and Roma was winger but during his time with the
Giallorossi he was often used as centre forward, especially when Caniggia didn't have a good form. In 1994 he joined Torino, having two very good seasons with 31 goals in 64 matches. He left for Bayern München where he played 57 games and scored 12 times in two seasons. After a two-year spell at Piacenza and one last season at Cesena, he retired in 2001. He gained 9 caps for Italy, scoring twice.
Rizzitelli was a fast player, able in aerial games despite not being very tall. He fit well with classic in-box centre forwards like Rudi Völler at Roma. Throughout his career he proved to have a great dribbling and the ability to score acrobatic goals with one-touch and both feet. He had great stamina to constantly track back and press the opponents in order to make his teammates breathe or even reaching his own penalty area and make a clearance, acting many times as additional side-back. One of his best performances came in the second-leg of the 1990-91 UEFA Cup semifinal against Brøndby: after the 0-0 draw in Denmark, Roma won 2-1 but after Rizzitelli cheered up his teammates who looked like they gave up from the beginning of the match. Rizzitelli ran everywhere fpr the whole length of the game, pressing his opponents, looking for dribblings, showing no sign of tireness, scoring the first goal and maybe even the second that was assigned to Völler.
