Hrvoje Vejić is a Croatian retired footballer. During his career he often played in the midfield, so at the first season at Hajduk he was commonly used as a midfielder. With time, he moved to the sweeper position where he conducted the defense of club. Later he earned captaincy. Very important in the defense, and in attack, especially with great heading, and his goals saved a couple of times a team. Remembered especially for a goal against Varteks from volley after turn. It was for the lead in the last round of the league, when Hajduk won the title. He started playing with 7 years in the offspring of the Jadran Ploče. In 1998, Vejić started his football career in the Croatian capital with NK Zagreb, where he played for three seasons. He then spent four seasons at Hajduk Split, where he became the team captain, before moving to Tom Tomsk of Russia. Vejić joined his former club Hajduk Split on 12th January 2009, as a free player after leaving Tomsk. Vejić earned a total of 5 caps, scoring no goals, and his final international was an April 2009 World Cup qualification match away against Andorra.
