No offence, but can I ask why every single stat is able to be divided by 5? Did you try and convert these stats from another source like Football Manager? |

Moreover goalkeepers usually don't have a value below 40 for shooting stats or below 50 for passing stats. Even dribbling, heading and technique usually are at least on high 40s. |

Thanks for the feedback you two. I used for reference stats from PES 5, and updated it like I remembered him playing. About the stats bellow 40 or 50 because he wasn't so good with foot playing. I divided the stats by 5 to simplify, I will update it soon. |

I've kept this set in my archives for a while now, but after I noticed that DonCorleone has been offline for some time, I thought it'd be interesting if I posted what I have on Marcos, as I believe he was one of our most important GKs from the late 90s to early 2010s, and I don't agree 100% with Don's original post. Right off the bat, Marcos was bad with the ball at his feet. He barely used his weak foot, and his passing under pressure was all over the place, as was his ball control. His regular passes were ok at best, and he was able, at least, to send a goal kick past the half line. Also, he was very unlucky throughout his career, being extremely injury-prone and getting involved in lots of dangerous mid-game collisions, or hurting himself while diving for a save. He had a number of severe arm bone injuries during 99-02 that held back his performances to some extent, but he still was an excellent goalie. He had fantastic reflexes, and a knack for stopping penalties. His defending was very consistent during that time, providing excellent close range saves, as well as for some middle/long distance shots (e.g. Neuville's outside curling FK). Anyways, here's the set. Spoiler: show |

In the IC against Trad Bricks, he was notoriously awful defending the high balls into the area. |

Yeah, I've watched that game over and over and he was indeed dreadful. That rushing out of the goal line on the Giggs' cross was probably the biggest screw up of his career. |

Why the huge drop in mentality? |

IMO he wasn't better than Dida in that aspect, as time passed, he'd get more tired, affecting his defences (taking even more effort to perform them). 85 would make him unbreakable. Maybe Marcos could sit at a 75, dunno. I've tested him in the WC2002 Shahruddin mod for PES6 and he performed just like I described him on my last post. |

He used to perform much better on bigger games or when the team needed him the most. The best games of his career where exactly in Copa Libertadores and the World Cup. He also was a true leader and was respected a lot even by the opposite players. You could drop his stamina instead. |
