Rizik is a former defensive or central midfielder, capable of playing also as centre back. He spent the majority of his career at Al-Sadd, making 145 league games from 2004 to 2013 ─ he played the 2009-10 season at Al-Khor ─ scoring 16 goals. He played also for Qatar SC and El-Jaish, where he retired in 2016. He gained 114 caps for Qatar, becoming the first to play 100 matches for the national team, scoring 7 goals.
Rizik was a leader in the field thanks to his great awareness in front of the defensive line, his ability to stop the opposing offenses and his technical qualities. He wasn't very fast and didn't make much movement, acting mainly in the middle of the field and setting the attacking play from there. A good passer, he preferred playing the ball with low and accurate passes rather than delivering high and long balls that usually had speed but not much accuracy. He was comfortable with both feet but mostly used the right and possessed a powerful shot.
