Soria is a centre forward. Born in Uruguay, his career began in 2002 at Liverpool de Montevideo. He transferred to Qatar in 2004 and was naturalized in 2006. He had his best time at Qatar SC, where he made 192 appearances from 2005 to 2012, scoring 128 goals. He had very good experiences also at Lekhwiya ─ now Al-Duhail ─ from 2012 to 2015 and Al-Rayyan from 2015 to 2020, respectively scoring 56 times in 91 games and 48 in 142. After playing for Al-Arabi in 2020-21, he came back to Qatar SC. He holds the record for the fastest goal scored in AFC Champions League history at 9 second in 2013. He gained 123 caps for Qatar, scoring 39 goals.
An impeccable and highly prolific striker, Soria possesses great scoring sense thanks to which he scored numerous crucial goals. He's not too fast but his strong physique, quick dribbling and remarkable technical qualities make him capable of keeping the ball and resist to the charges of the defenders. Effective on the lines and in the box, he can score with his feet as well as his head thanks to an excellent ability in the air. He can shoot with great power, even from difficult positions, and has fine accuracy from free kick and penalty too. Sometimes he passes the ball before rushing forward in order to receive the ball back or attracting defenders to him so that his teammate can have more space to finalize to offense.
