Gary Neville was a right back, who could play also as centre back. He spent his entire career at Manchester United from 1992 to 2011. He played 602 matches and scored 7 goals for the "Red Devils". He capped 85 times for England.
Regarded as one of England's greatest ever right backs and as one of the best Premier League side backs of his generation, Neville was a committed and reliable player. He was an old-fashioned defender due to his combative style and aggressive as well as tenacious hard-tackler, renowned for his work-rate, professionalism, determination and consistency. He was a brave defender, who could also attack. He wasn't very tall, strong, quick or technically gifted but had tactical intelligence, ability to read the game, stamina, work-ethic, authority on the field and leadership. He formed a very effective right flank partnership alongside his friend David Beckham. Neville would often carry up the ball, pass it to his teammate, make overlapping runs forward, receive the ball back and make accurate crosses, proving to be an additional attacking threat when Beckham didn't have much space. Neville was also capable to send very long throws with the hands.
