INFO:
Esposito is a former winger or secondary striker, though he was mostly deployed on the right flank. He debuted in 1997 with Pescara, where he played until 1999 and again in 2001. He played for Udinese from 1999 to January 2001. In 2001, he signed for Cagliari, having there his best time as he scored 66 goals in 217 appearances in six seasons. His downfall came in 2007 after he joined Roma, where he couldn't show what he showed at Cagliari. He retired in 2011 after short experiences with ChievoVerona, Grosseto and Atletico Roma. He capped for Italy 6 times.
Distinguished for his great pace made of fast sprints and burts of accelerations, Esposito combined his speed with excellent agility and superb dribbling skill that made him a threat for the opposition's defences. He Once he got rid of his opponents, he would look for space to shoot or reach the goal-line before sending a fast cross in the box. His passes were also solid. While he was excellent in playing on the lines in order to receive and control the ball in the box after outpacing the defenders and beat the goalkeeper one-on-one, he didn't disdain shooting in acrobacy or with a volley, occasionally showing some power, given that his shots usually were accurate rather than powerful. Despite not being notably tall, he possessed a solid heading ability, thanks to his instinct, positional sense and good elevation.

He's the perfect example of player who has a downfall as soon as he's signed by a big team. Sadly, Cagliari had many of them.
