INFO:
Langella is a former winger or secondary striker, mostly deployed on the left flank. His career began in 1993 at Castelsardo, where he played until 1999. He remained in Italian lower leagues until 2002, playing for Torres. He eventually had his best time at Cagliari, making 148 appearances from 2002 to 2007, scoring 22 goals. He retired in 2011 after underwhelming experiences with Atalanta, ChievoVerona and Bari. He capped for Italy 3 times in 2005.
Distinguished for his excellent pace and dribbling, Langella could make great bursts of accelerations to get rid of a few opponents or dribble them with his quick and accurate footwork, but he was often seen making devastating long runs at even higher speed. A natural left-footed who was comfortable with the right too, he possessed a powerful shot that allowed him to score some remarkable goals, sometimes with the outside or from outside the area. However, he was far from being prolific as his lack of consistency and frequent lack of accuracy in front of the goal stopped him from becoming a better finisher, and possibly having a more successful career. While he wasn't always a teamworker, he possessed a solid ball distribution especially with his fast enough crosses from the flank.
