Niko Kovač is former Croatian midfielder. He was the natural born leader with good technique and outstanding running capacities even at high age. Niko had very good sense of positioning which led him to score goals with his good heading abilities, he also had solid shot and could score from distance. Kovač possessed pretty good passing range and could play as some kind of defensive playmaker. Niko Kovač grew as the son of Croatian parents with brother Robert in Berlin and began to club football at SC Rapide Wedding. In 1989 he moved to Hertha Zehlendorf, 1991 before he got to the second division club Hertha BSC, where he stayed until 1996 to master and lead players developed but never made a career in the Bundesliga. His professional debut came on 2 November 1991 (Round 16) in the 1-1 draw at home to VfL Osnabrueck, when he was in the 77th Minutes off the bench for Armin Görtz was. He scored his first goal in the following season on 12 December 1992 (Round 25) in a 3-0 home victory over Hanover 96 Furthermore, he did six times in the DFB-Pokal used. After Hoeness as manager of FC Bayern Munich attention was Kovač, 2001 she moved to the native. With Bayern he won the World Cup and played until 2003 34 league games (3 goals), seven DFB Cup games (1 goal) and six Champions League games (1 goal), won 2003, the double (league and cup) and left the club after he no longer belonged to the permanent staff.
