I found it quite hard to rate Kewell during the 2006WC. He was indeed the most talented player on the squad, and it was quite obvious Australia needed him so much, as he could fill this crucial role of a playmaking SS very well, challenging opposite D-Lines with accurate passing and contributing with well timed shots. In summary, Kewell seemed a bigger threat than the likes of Viduka, Aloisi and Thompson. Thing is, he was struggling with his physical condition. Came in late as a sub against Brazil allegedly because he was already dealing with heavy pain in his left foot, later being completely unable of joining the squad to face Italy. Whenever he wasn't on the field, his presence would be deeply missed. Even though I watched some of Kewell's games with the NT before the WC, I don't have much to say about his Liverpool days (apart from that game against São Paulo, during which he basically owned Cicinho ![]() If anybody here has anything to add about his Liverpool spell, we could try to turn it into a 2004-2006 set. I'm open to suggestions! Oh, and by the way, If you guys have anything against me posting it here, I'll be happy to create a separate topic for it on the "Stat Practice" page ![]() ![]() 2006 WORLD CUP SET Spoiler: show |
