INFO:Finnan is a former right-back or righ-side midfielder. His career began in 1993, playing in lower leagues for Welling United. He then played in First Division for Birmingham City from 1995 and 1997. After a few seasons at Notts County once again in lower leagues, he transferred to Fulham in 1998. He helped the club reaching the promotion to Premier League, making 209 appearances and scoring 7 goals. In 2003, he joined Liverpool, winning the 2004-05 UEFA Champions League among other trophies. He left the "Reds" in 2008 after 217 matches and 1 goal. He retired in 2010 following short experiences at Espanyol and Portsmouth. He capped for Ireland 53 times, scoring twice.
A model of consistency, form and professionalism, Finnan was a solid, dependant and committed right-back who quickly became a fan favourite at both Fulham and Liverpool. Especially at Liverpool he played an average amount of 50 goals per season from 2004 and 2007. Gifted with high stamina and good game reading ability, he was a key player down the right flank. While he wasn't too good in defence, his accurate pinpoint crosses allowed him to be effective during attacking plays. He could also deliver dangerous long throw-ins.
