Córdova is a former central or attacking. He had his best time at Bari from 2002 to 2004 and Messina from 2006 to 2008, playing respectively 72 and 65 matches, scoring 18 goals with the Galletti and 13 with the Sicilian team. He played also for Perugia, Crotone, Livorno, Ascoli, Parma, Brescia and in Chile for Colo-Colo and Unión Española. He retired in 2012. He gained 5 caps for Chile, scoring once.
Córdova acted as playmaker. He possessed fine technique, good vision of the game and was skilled on verticalizations from the back. An able passer and a set-piece specialist, he could deliver accurate crosses from corner or score from direct free kick. His performances though weren't very consistent.
