INFO:
Owen is a former centre-forward. He had his most successful time at Liverpool where he started his career in 1997 and scored 158 goals in 297 appearances. He left for Real Madrid in 2004 but didn't have the same success. His experience in Spain lasted only one season. He retired in 2013 following a decent four-year spell at Newcastle United and forgettable years at Manchester United and Stoke City. He capped for England 89 times, scoring 40 goals. He won the Ballon d'Or in 2001.
Considered one of the best strikers in Liverpool's history, Owen was a prodigy since his debut in the first team. One of the fastest players in the world in his prime, he was also distinguished by excellent agility, offensive awareness and instinct in the box that allowed him to make effective late runs behind the defenders in order to get in front of the goalkeeper. Also in possession of notable technical skill and solid vision, he was the target of many passes that came from his teammates. He often tried to dribble his opponents before delivering accurate shots even from difficult spots. He also showed a good heading ability whenever he had the chance. In addition, he often moved further from the goal and could create scoring chances, especially with through passes from the edge of the area. Unfortunately, injuries and a lack of consistency often affected his mobility and fitness, but Owen always scored his fair share of goals when he was in good form.

Yeah. I think the stats's era could be longer as what you said. And i agree about the CON and Injury tolerance suggestions. The stats only suited him in 1999 season, where he only able to played like less than 10 games for 90 minutes while constantly in pain due to his harmstring problems.

Condition: 4-6

and longer era ;)

I though the same as Gorkuenjoe said when I posted this set from the old site, but I forgot to tell anything about that... In my opinion his stats were the same in Real Madrid (or little changes here and there) but with the injury tolerance and condition from the set without update

Probably his speed keeping his control with ball deserved a orange level in DS (90-91).

After leave Liverpool he was only a shadow of what he was.

Today i was watching a Liverpool vs Manchester Utd match from the 2000-2001 season, it was nice to see how insanely talented owen was. later i dig a little bit more in the net and i found a decent number of matches from that season, i will like to suggest move this set to the PTU section. I'm comitted to create that team and all his players, and Michael is one of them.

Just from a quick look, AGG definitely seems too low, I think 89 or 90 would suit better, he was always using his pace to make runs in behind.

Aside that, there's a big gap in michael's level between the 97-98 season and the 00-01, so era is definitely too long.

TBH I never really considered him a better pure finisher than Fowler, Wright or Shearer, just more complete in terms of movement, pace and dribbling ability.

I'm done with liverpool's treble winner team, i will start to post the sets, but i would like to start with owen, since i found him the most talented player in all that team.

probably some people will disagree when they gonna see some values, but imho, owen is worth of every single of them, he deserves those values and also we have to take in count something. we need to see the set as a whole, not just only one stat, they all work togheter to give a final product, that it's try to be close to emulate Owen.

I almost agree but his scoring ratio for that year doesn't worth for red values.

For me, I would definitely reserve red values for players that were consistently incredible goalscorers. Owen never even hit 20 goals in the league in his whole career, and yet has the same ATT and higher SA, ST and RES than Cristiano Ronaldo who has 10 seasons that were more prolific than Owen's highest. Especially red SA should only go to guys like Puskas, Pelé, Müller, Messi etc. who scored a goal a game on a regular basis.

Personally, and I think a few people would probably agree, Owen was the worst player to win the Ballon d'Or, not that he was a bad player, but there's no way he should have beat Raúl or Totti that year, and considering he's the only Liverpool player to win it, he isn't even close to being the best striker in the club's history, never mind the best player. I don't even dislike Owen, I just don't consider him anything close to an all time great, he was merely a world class striker, comparable to someone like Agüero or Cavani today, I just think this set makes him something he wasn't.

I agree, IMO one of the most overrated players of all time. Just like you said, he never even score 20 league goals in one season. He was extremely fast, and IMO, that's his only world class quality.
