INFOS:

Marouane Chamakh is former Moroccan striker who spent most of his career in Girondins de Bordeaux. He played at his peak during his last three seasons at Bordeaux, winning league title in 2009 and playing in Champions League quarterfinals next season. He was extremely dangerous in aerial play, scoring numerous headers and being a main threat at every corner kick or cross. He was good in attacking movement, often getting in goalscoring chances, but his finishing was rather poor, he missed a lot of open chances. He was good with the ball in his feet, and also good passer for striker, providing over 20 assists in his last three seasons in Bordeaux. He was strong in physical challenges, and a very good player in his role to receive the ball, hold it, and distribute it to his teammate (mostly Gourcuff). He was able to beat the opponent with dribbling, and create himself a chance to shoot, but often, these shoots wouldn't pose a threat to opposition goalkeeper. In 2010 he signed for Arsenal as one of the best strikers in Ligue 1, but there his career suffered downfall. He represented Morocco in 65 games, scoring 18 times. He participated in four Africa Cup of Nations tournaments, most notably in 2004 when Morocco was defeated in the final match against Tunisia.
