Marc Planus is iconic Girondins de Bordeaux defender, spending his whole career with the club. With the club, he won one Ligue 1 title, one Coupe de France trophy, two Coupe de la Ligue trophies, and twice Trophée Des Champions. He played as a center back, he was fast with good reactions and defensive positioning. He wasn't that strong for a defender, but he made up for that with his quick reactions. His specialty were his excellent sliding tackles. He wasn't much of a threat in the air, but often went on attacking corners, and most of his goals he scored with his foot (although he didn't score many of them). He was able to deliver an excellent pinpoint pass to his attackers and provided some assists that way. He was reliable defender at the club and changed a lot of partners during his years with the club. He formed great partnership with Souleymane Diawara during their title winning season. He played for the French NT only once. He was a part of the French World Cup 2010 squad, but didn't play at the tournament.
