INFO:Hammoudi is a former goalkeeper. He played only for Al-Shorta from 1972 to 1987 and won 104 caps for Iraq, taking part to the 1979 Arabian Gulf Cup, 1982 Asian Games, 1984 Olympics and 1986 FIFA World Cup.
Regarded as Iraqi greatest goalkeeper and one of the best ever players, he was particuarly efficient during the 1979 Arabian Gulf Cup won by Iraq, when he conceded only one goal in the whole tournament. Capable with his feet, he could use well both right and left and during his long career at Al-Shorta he took three penalties, scoring two of them. He possessed good reaction and goalkeeping skills and was an able penalty saver but was less effective when coming out of the goal. His goal kicks had good speed and usually went over the half but were rarely accurate.
