Belodedici was the missing piece in the Red Star's team at the end in 80's and IMO, their best ever transfer. Even though that wasn't a real transfer because he ran away from Romania and joined Red Star on his own. People at the club had no idea who's the guy who wanted to join the team. Luckily, one of the staff members recognized the European Cup winner from 1986 and history was made. During his prime, Mile was one of the best defenders in Europe. He was classy, elegant player, whose ball winning technique is matched with his amazing positioning. Also, he possessed good speed for a libero, and with all those skills combined, he was practically impossible to trick. He possessed good technical skills, he was a decent passer of the ball and a good dribbler, often tricking one or two opponents before delivering a pass. He was always calm at the pitch, and his reaction after scoring a penalty in 1991 European Cup final says all about that.

Yes, he should have SWP as main position.

So he's really righty. If you watch his 150 minutes performance in Euro 2000, without watching anything else, makes you doubtful about his preferred foot.

Back in his Red Star days, can be noticed that he was right footed. Regarding Euro 2000, well, last time I have watched those games was a year 2000, so I don't remember his performance there at all, or any of his characteristics back then.

I just rewatched Italy-Romania just to watch again how Hagi, of all people, decided to end his International career like a cheater, and I considered to change his preferred foot to L. The only one who knew the offside trap in Romania, ask Filipescu and Ciobotariu.

I've seen things like that before. For example in the 1967 European Cup final, Bobby Murdoch played the game left footed because he injured his preferred right foot before the match. And then he gave a man of the match performance, just firing passes all around the pitch with his weaker foot. So maybe it's something like that where Belodedici hurt his right foot and was forced to use his left more often. Especially if you look at this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w5I6t7EFac4&ab_channel=SBAllTouchCompilationsHe looks like a natural righty but clearly he has no problems at all using his left foot too. Although he looks like an 8/8 for sure. Seems like a guy that just used whatever foot he felt like using at that moment, but when he has to react quickly he seems to naturally prefer the right foot.
