INFO:Billy Thomson was a Scottish goalkeeper, one of the best in the country during the 80s. He's probably most famous as Dundee United's goalkeeper when they reached the UEFA Cup final in 1987. Thomson was a tall goalkeeper who was very good at commanding his box and claiming crosses. He had good handling and could catch shots from close range and crosses even with one hand. And he was reliable, rarely made mistakes and had solid positioning and reflexes, and a powerful kick. Thomson had the difficult task of replacing the legend Hamish McAlpine in United's goal but his great performances in a strong era for the club made him one of the most popular goalkeepers in their history.
