Mehmet Cüneyt Tanman (born January 16, 1956, Istanbul) is a former Turkish national football player and football commentator. Due to his high ball technique and football intelligence, he is the player who played in the most positions in the history of Galatasaray football team. He served in the positions of sweeper, left back, midfielder and center forward. He became one of the exemplary football players of the Turkish leagues with his gentlemanliness and dignity. Few times he played as keeper. Very strong in aerial play and intelligent in commanding the defence. He started playing football in Galatasaray in 1974. Except for the season in 1975-76 when he was loaned to Giresunspor, he always played in Galatasaray until 1991 when he quit football. He played for Galatasaray in 401 league matches and scored 41 goals. He was also the team captain between 1985-1991. He was one of the key players in the squad that made Galatasaray champions in 1987 after 13 years. He experienced the joy of winning his second championship in 1988. Cüneyt Tanman, who was called up to the national team 30 times, wore the national jersey 29 times in total, 9 times for the Turkey U-18 team, 3 times for the Turkey U-21 team, and 17 times for the Turkey A national team. He was the captain in 9 matches in the Turkey A national team .
