Carlos Córdoba emerged from Boca's youth categories, he earned the starter spot in the 1980 and played regurlarly until 1984 when he was stuck in series of conflict with the club's managers and decided to left the club. He was a former left midfielder replaced in the side back position. He was a decent man marker and a rather fair defender who didn't rely much on physical strenght and hard style of play. He was much more in his element supporting the attacks, moving forward as often as he could, sending crosses to the forwards. In this aspect of his game he could express his main qualities: great pace, dribbling skills and technique above of the average for a defender.
