Petranović was Montenegrin-born goalkeeper who was the first goalkeeper of the Bosnia and Herzegovina after Yugoslavia dissolved. He was known as an extremely brave keeper, he literally went into opponent's feet, never feared of anyone, and even clashed with the crowd when they offended younger teammate. His behavior and attitude earned him a nickname "Kamikaze". He was excellent keeper in 1-on-1 situations and possessed great reflexes. His attractive style of keeping and big leap led him to become crowd favorite. He didn't avoid using his feet when giving the ball to his teammates. However, despite his obvious quality, he was never capped for Yugoslav NT.
