Stoycho Mladenov is former Bulgarian footballer, an offensive allrounder. He was complete player, his main strengths were speed, technique, positionining and anticipating. In Portugal he's remembered also as a good passer, although I didn't notice it in his games, except of good crosses. His best years were spent as a striker for CSKA Sofia. He also served the club as a manager and head coach. Mladenov's nickname is "Liverpool's Executor" in honor of his winning goals against the European champion Liverpool FC in UEFA European Champions Cup 1/4 finals in season 81/82. Mladenov's finest game as a player was on 17 March 1982, when he scored both of CSKA's goals as they beat Liverpool 2-0 in Sofia to knock the English giants out of the European Cup quarter-finals. He was honoured as Bulgarian Footballer of the Year in 1983. He played also in Portugal in several clubs like V.SetĂșbal, GD Estoril-Praia, Olhanense, but was in C.F. Os Belenenses where he achieved one third place in Portuguese football league and won a Portuguese Cup beatting Benfica in the final, after winning in the prior stages teams like FC Porto and Sporting CP. He was also responsible for the victory that Belenenses had over Barcelona in the UEFA Cup of 1988 , when he stole the ball from Barcelona's defender Shuster and made a perfect assistance for Mapuata's goal. Nowadays he trains the most successful Bulgarian team CSKA Sofia. Mladenov made 59 appearances for Bulgaria, between 1978 and 1988 and scored 15 goals. He played in four matches for his country at 1986 FIFA World Cup. Unanimously considered - during their stay in Portugal - as best foreign play in our country, Stoycho Mladenov Bulgarian international was a player, an advanced undeniable quality that represented the CF Belenenses, the Vitoria Setubal, GD Estoril - Beach and SC Olhanense between the mid-80th and early 90's. Dimitrov Stoycho Mladenov was born in Sofia in Bulgaria on April 24, 1957. His football career began in small clubs Bulgarians, gradually climbing career until CSKA Sofia, perhaps the leading club in his country. In 1974/75 and 1975/76 FC Dimitrovgrad and represented in three seasons, between 1976/77 and 1978/79 the formation of FC Beroe Stara Zagora. In season 1977/78, for FC Beroe Stara Zagora, won the trophy for top scorer at the Bulgarian National Championship with 21 goals scored. After a year he was prevented from playing by the Bulgarian Football, Mladenov finally got the team of CSKA Sofia in the 1980/81 season, the club where he remained for six seasons before moving to Portuguese football. By popular club in Bulgaria's capital, Mladenov achieved great notoriety in football in his country reach the National Team. For the national team of Bulgaria, Mladenov recorded 59 international caps, having participated in a wide racing world as the World Cup played in Mexico in 1986, where he even point out a goal of his national team in that competition. At CSKA Sofia won four times National Champion in Bulgaria, particularly in the years 1980, 1981, 1982, 1983, is so sacred tetra-champion. At four National Championships in Bulgaria joined him another 2 cups of the country, won in 1985 and 1986. After participating in the service of selection of Bulgaria in Mexico 86, Mladenov was hired by CF Belenenses at the beginning of season 1986/87. When he arrived in Portugal was considered one of the most prestigious players in the country, already 29 years old and a great soccer experience. He signed with the club from the cross of Christ a valid contract for three seasons.
