Francini was left back and later in his career the central defender. Very fast player with excellent heading abilities who run a lot, most of his goals were headers and he scored indeed a solid amount of goals for a side back. He was modern type of attacking full back but he wasn't particularly gifted technically neither had some great crosses. But he was good in defense as well, good tackler, fighter, very endurable and strong physically. Francio was very skillful in the opponent box, not just scoring with the head but also demonstrated good reactions and could score with his left foot as well. Certainly it's a pity he wasn't better technically, because with such a great physical attributes, he could have been the best side back in the world. Anyway he was "closed" in NT by the presence of Cabrini and later Maldini.
