INFO:

Giovanni Francini is former Italian footballer who played most notably for Napoli and Torino. He was left back with a great speed and dangeous runs in opponent box which combined with his excellent heading abilities, allowed Francini to score solid amount of goals and many important ones as well. So since Boniek was known in Juve as "Bello di Notte", Francini was Napoli's "Bello di Note". Francini was also hard in tackling, a real fury on the left side. Francini grew up in Molicciara football team and then moved to the youth of Torino and made his debut in Serie A in 1980 with the "grenate". After collecting 18 appearances in two seasons, goes on loan to Reggiana in the junior team before returning to Piemonte where he remained for four more seasons. In 1987 he goes to Napoli, where he stayed for seven seasons, enhanced by a Italian title, one UEFA Cup and one Italian Supercup. In 1994, he moved to Genoa where he remained a few months, then moved to Brescia, where, after two seasons, will retire at the age of 32 years. While campaigning in Turin he made his international debut, also favored from the retirement of his predecessor in the role of left-back, Antonio Cabrini. In the national team will gather 8 caps, partly because of the imminent explosion of Paolo Maldini in the same role. However, Francini was among the 20 players invited by the National Team coach Azeglio Vicini for Euro 1988.
