Former italian striker, Carnevale began as a pure centre forward but later he played more and more deeper as a second striker, very often in midfield and excellent in defensive duties. Not talented with superb technique but possesed solid dribbling and speed, good strength and excellent in aerial battles. Avellino hired him in October 1979, and he debuted with the team in Serie A, in later years played with Reggiana, Cagliari, Catania and Udinese. In 1986 he moved to Napoli of Maradona, and remains in the team for four years, winning two league titles, one Italian Cup and UEFA Cup. Remains in history as the author of the goal that gave the first championship in Napoli's history on May 10, 1987, during Fiorentina-Napoli 1-1. In the summer 1990 Carnevale moved to Rome. After starting the season by scoring four goals in five matches, was later disqualified for doping, charged alongside his teammate Angelo Peruzzi, for taking diet pills phentermine (Lipopill). He returned to action after a year, and was sold to Udinese in 1993 where he remained only a few months and then went on loan at Pescara in Serie B. Than he came back to Udinese for a short period, ended his career again with Pescara in the 1995-1996 season with 10 goals in 28 appearances. He currently works as an observer of Udinese. He was a member of the National Olympic team that was ranked fourth in the 1988 Olympics in Seoul. He participated in the World Cup in Italy '90, where he formed the attacking partnership with Gianluca Vialli, but his disappointing performance led the coach Azeglio Vicini to replace him in the first two games with more convincing Salvatore Schillaci, causing the reaction the player who, having offended his coach, never again wore the NT jersey and ended his National Team career with 10 games and 2 goals scored.

Stop the PSD copycats...
