Napoli legend Ferrario was one of the greatest players in their history, he was good and reliable defender, always tight in marking and well positioned. From 1982 till 1984 he was even regular penalty taker. Sometimes even played as side back, especially later in Roma, Ferrario was real modern type of defender, good in anticipating and with solid tachnique and ball control, but he was pretty defensive minded player. Raised in Varese in 1975, at the age of 16, enters into the first team and played two Serie B. In the summer of 1977 he was hired by Napoli, managing at once to win the starting spot, which earned him also at the age of 18 years place in the National Under-21, where he eventually collected a total of 16 appearances. Over the years he became a leader of the Neapolitan team which lost unlucky the championship in 1981 and managed to win it in 1987 with 29 appearances and a key goal in direct confrontation with Juventus in Turin which was won 3-1, his only goal from open play. His long militancy with the shirt of Napoli ends after over 300 league appearances (third in the list of appearances in Napoli team of all time). And 1988, the Blues lost the championship in favor of Milan. He was then transferred to Rome. In the summer of 1989 he joined Avellino in Serie B, where he met also former fellow Napoli's players Francesco Baiano, Massimo Filardi, Costanzo Celestini and Giuseppe Taglialatela, and remained for two seasons, nearly missing promotion to Serie A.
Then he defended the colors of the first Siena (Serie C1 1991-1992), and then those of Carrara. Here he was for two seasons the leader of the team, also coming back to scoring on several occasions. In the summer of 1994 he moved to Serie C2 in Saronno of the young president Enrico Preziosi, where he was coached by his former team-mate Giuseppe Savoldi, will close his career with promotion to Serie C1. Back in Lombardy, has worked with the youth of Varese Football in the 2006-2007 season and was coach of Berretti. In the 2009-2010 season Ferrario is coach of the junior team Gallaratese of the town of Gallarate, near his birth town Varese. In season 1986/1987 he won with Napoli the Scudetto and Coppa Italia, but he was redicuously overlooked of playing for Italy NT because of "geo-political" and who knows which other reasons.

Stop the PSD copycats...
