INFOJasmin Džeko (born 15 November 1958) is a retired Bosnian-Herzegovinian footballer who played as a defender. He was offensive full back and midfielder, with trademark rocket shot. Džeko was strong and tough player, very offensive minded. He was always in the attacking positions, searching for his rocket shots or sending good crosses. Besides he was good free kick taker and the best scorer among side backs in the Yugoslav football history. He began his career in Doboj, then played for NK Osijek and Zagreb's Dinamo. He ended his career in Austria, where he began working as a coach. Džeko has signed a professional contract with Osijek for which he played 1980-1984 and 1985-1989, appearing in more than 400 games. For Dinamo played 67 matches and scored 8 goals (1984-85). Since 1989 to 1997 played for Austrian lower division teams, where he then went on to work as a coach. He made his debut for Yugoslavia in a March 1983 friendly match away against Romania and has earned a total of 2 caps, scoring 1 goal. His second and final international was an April 1983 friendly against France. As a player he had good offers from France and Spain but decided for Austria because his daughter needed heart transplatation and they found there people who could help them. Džeko has been managing clubs in the Austrian lower leagues.

Igrači koji su imali najači udarac u bivšoj jugi su bili Mladenović, Arnautović, Karačić i Džeko. Tukli su slobodne udarcew u okvir vrata s preko 40-tak metara. Ipak mislim da je među njima svima najači udarac imao Jasmin Džeko napadački desni bek Osijeka i Dinama. Prva njegova utakmnica u dresu Dinama Partizan- Dinamo 2:0 obilježena je velikom materijalnom štetom koju je prouzročio Džeko. Naime, Džeko je krajem prvog poluvremena izvodio slobodan udarac iz daljine od preko 40-tak metara na gol i to iskosa s lijeve strane. Naravno, opalio je svom snagom loptu koja je otišla visoko iznad grede i pogodila semafor koji je zbog siline udarca prestao raditi. Grobarima je trebalo jedno dan dva da ga poprave. Nažalost, Ćiro je Đeku otpisao kao neperspektivnog i vratio ga u Osijek.
