Marocchino was a side midfielder or winger on both flanks. He had his best time at Juventus from 1979 to 1983, playing 137 matches, scoring 12 goals and gaining a cap for Italy. He played also for Casale, Cremonese, Atalanta, Sampdoria, Bologna and Valenzana, where he retired in 1992.
Marocchino was a very good and technically talented player but could've done way more if he wasn't lazy in the field, didn't lack of consistency and considered football with more importance. In fact, he loved smoking, nightlife, going out with women, good clothes and cars. He would've probably been an irreplacable regular starter if he had changed his attitude. As a player, he was gifted with a tall and well built physique but still had nice speed. He had good acceleration and a shot with good power but rarely took advantage of these characteristics, often moving slower than he could or delivering weak shots. His speed and physique though helped him recovering many balls in the midfield but he was very rarely seen participating in the defence. He possessed an accurate dribbling that he used along the entire opposing half to give trouble to the defenders. He was tactically clever and a good provider of scoring chances, capable to deliver either short or long balls at good speed and through passes.
