Quote:
Carannante was left back, sometimes even played in midfield, mainly when coming on as a substitute. He was promising youngster, even called "New Cabrini" but he never fulfilled the expectations, he also had lot of problems with injuries but he was also inconsistent. He was known for his overlapping runs down the left flank and good crosses for the strikers, but I must say those runs were not frequent in his Napoli days, a bit more in Lecce. Although not of imposing stature, he was strong and flexible player and tough in tackling. He had good pace and solid dribbling and leap but he wasn't the player who can produce his attacking runs against stronger opposition, that's why probably he spent lot of his career in provincial clubs.
