INFO:
Scanziani is a former attacking and central midfielder. His career began in 1972. He played for Meda, Livorno and Como before transferring to Inter in 1977. He made 62 appearances in two seasons for the Nerazzurri, scoring 9 goals. He then joined Ascoli, where he scored 13 times in 63 games from 1979 to 1981. He had his best time in the following five seasons at Sampdoria: 198 matches and 30 goals. He retired in 1989 after experiences with Genoa and Arezzo. He probably would've deserved to be called up for Italy during his good career.
Scanziani was a fair player − he received only two red cards, at the beginning and the end of his career − and a hardworker, gifted with stamina, technique, an accurate shot and great tactical intelligence. His shots had good power and he was capable to score with first time, volleys and bicycle kicks. He didn't have a specific disposition in the field but he was mainy focused on the attack, while he wasn't very effective at defending and marking. He was effective with both feet, had creativity and a good passing ability. His passes seemed more accurate than fast and he could give the ball a good effect. He was very capable at running to the box and hit the ball with a header. Thanks to a resistent physique, he wasn't prone to injuries and the first serious one came when he was 33 years old and almost at the end of his career.
