Born into a military family. Until football was engaged sports gymnastics. The pupil of the school football city of Chernigov (1971). After a while enrolled in the Desna (Chernigov). In the team spent 2 seasons, was summoned to the youth team of Ukraine. After a successful 1982 season, when the "Desna" became 2nd in the Ukrainian area, moved to Dynamo Kyiv.
