Defence MindedINFO:Kilcline was a centre back. He played 158 matches for Notts County from 1980 to 1984. Then he joined Coventry City, where he played 173 games, impressively scoring 28 goals and winning the historical 1986-87 FA Cup as captain. He left Coventry City in 1991 and played for Oldham Athletic, Newcastle United, Swindon Town, Mansfield Town and Halifax Town, where he retired in 1998.
Kilcline was a tall and a bit slow defender, not too strong but still a hard tackler, famous for his long blonde hair and moustache. Very good in aerial games, he always preferred using headings, even when the ball was too near to the field, diving to hit it with the head instead of the foot. This characteristic helped him scoring goals during corners. He was gifted with a powerful shot that he used from free kicks and penalties.
