INFO:Liu Haiguang is a former centre forward, capable of playing as secondary striker. He spent most of his career at Shanghai, where he played from 1982 to 1987 and from 1989 to 1991, when he retired. In the middle, he had a two-year experience in Serbia at Partizan alongside Jia Xiuquan, playing 7 matches, scoring 3 goals and becoming the first Chinese player to sign for a European team. Liu Haiguang capped for China 58 times, scoring 20 goals.
A tall but thin striker, Liu Haiguang was gifted with fine speed and dribbling. Thanks to the combination of these qualities, he could break through the defence by force. A good header, he could either score or create scoring opportunities for his teammates. He possessed enough technique to stop the ball, keep it and make first time touches. He could also deliver powerful shots with either foot. He occasionally helped in the midfield and was a decent passer.
