Attack / Defence Awareness Card: Defence MindedINFOS:Nenad Stojković is one of the best and most respected Serbian center-backs ever. He spent most of his career with Partizan with whom he won 3 Yugoslav First League titles, and for the rest of his career he played in France for several clubs. He had great positioning and reading of the game and he was pretty fast and agile for a defender. He also was formidable opponent in aerial duels. As one of the respected defender of his time,in 1982 he was called up to play for the Team of Europe against Rest of the World. He played alongside all time greats like Zoff, Beckenbauer, Krol...He said about that : "...I look to the left, there is Krol, I look to the right, there's Beckenbauer...I had to pinch myself to believe that it's true...".
As confirmation of his class came an offer from the reigning European champions HSV who offered him about 2mil deutsche marks. But then, he was sent to the army, so he was never transferred to them. He appeared at the 1982 WC and Euro 1984. For national team he was capped 32 times and scored once.
