INFO:
Shinde is a former defensive, central, attacking and left-side midfielder. He spent his entire career at Nkana FC from 1977 to 1988 when he was forced to retire following a bad knee injury. He capped for Zambia at least 9 times from 1981 to 1987, taking part to the African Cup of Nations in 1982 and 1986.
After starting his career as left-side midfielder, Shinde changed primary position to central midfielder in the early 1980s. Although his position was now in the center, he was a deep-lying midfielder in front of the back-line for Zambia and a n°10 attacking midfielder for Nkana. Nicknamed "Russian Tank" or "Tanker", he dominated the midfield with his powerful legs, becoming a master of his role and a mainstay in the national team, playing the anchor role and distributing the ball with short and simple passes to build up the attack. Coaches and teammates always trusted his leadership in the field, especially when he was the team captain. Considered one of the most creative Zambian midfielders during the 1980s and one of Zambia's most gifted ever players, Shinde was capable with either foot, had the ability to trap the ball and was a good penalty taker who preferred shooting hard and low.
