Defence MindedINFO:Zandonà was a sweeper or centre back. He spent most of his career at Arezzo, playing 171 league matches in two spells in Serie B and Serie C1. However he's remembered for his time at Avellino, where he played 79 games between 1984 and 1987. He played also for Monza, Biellese, Salernitana, Cagliari and Montevarchi. He retired in 1991.
Zandonà was a good and careful defender who marked his opponent often surrounding them alongside other defenders. He was quick when he had to make a clearance, for example when he saved a goal in 1-0 win against Inter: Altobelli dribbled goalkeeper Nicola Di Leo and shot on goal but Zandonà ran, reached the ball and saved it on the goal-line. His only goal with Avellino was a great bicycle kick against Modena in Coppa Italia.
