Morra is a former side midfielder, who could play in all midfield positions and even as sweeper. His career began in 1972 at Parma. He transferred to Catania three years later, spending nine seasons, helping the team obtain a double promotion from Serie C1 to Serie A, setting up the club record for appearances with 320 matches and scoring 28 goals. He then played for Cosenza, Olbia and Osimana, retiring in 1996.
Morra was a skillful and combative player, gifted with great will and determination. Tireless and fearless, he used to run up and down for the whole length of the match, never giving up, recovering balls and then setting up new actions. An able playmaker, assist-man and crosser, he was Catania's corner and free kick taker but he also scored a good amount of goals. He avoided injuries throughout his whole career, managing to play a lot of games.
