INFO:
Albiero is a former sweeper and centre-back. He started his career at Spal, where he played from 1978 to 1982. He briefly played for Como in 1981 and 1982, mostly in Coppa Italia. He then had a short, forgettable experience at Avellino in 1982-83. He had his best time in his second spell at Como from 1983 to 1989, making 196 appearances and scoring 8 goals. After leaving Como, he played for Padova in 1989-90, Spal in 1990-91 and Adriese in 1994-95.
Albiero was a tough defender, strong in the air either when clearing his area or trying to score. He had personality, moved well despite not being too quick, possessed decent technique and an accurate right foot. He could deliver good pinpoint passes forward which had more accuracy than speed. Furthermore, he was a good penalty and could keep the opposition's goalkeeper busy with powerful shots at the end of an offense or from free kick. His leadership was shown whevner he pushed forward as he drove his team even after stopping the pressing of legend like Maradona, Platini, van Basten, Gullit and Rummenigge among others.
