Finardi was an attacking midfielder or secondary striker. One of the best players in the history of Cremonese, he spent most of his career with the Grigiorossi, scoring 61 goals in 383 matches from 1973 to 1987 − in the middle a not very successful two-year spell at Atalanta between 1978 and 1980 − and becoming second player for most appearances with the club as well as fourth for most goals scored.
Finardi was a player with a keen attacking prowess. He wasn't strong but quick and gifted with good technique. He had great sense of goal and a good first-time touch but was also an assist-man. His signature was the left-footed shot, mostly from dead-ball situation, either free kick or penalty.
