INFO:

A very talented winger, Peter Weir is mostly remembered for his man of the match performance in the 1983 Cup Winners Cup final, tearing Real Madrid's right flank apart time after time. Tall and elegant, he was known for his long runs, often beating three or four players at speed, and his good crossing ability, both from open play and dead ball situations. He was also a two footed player, even opting to take set pieces with his left foot sometimes; his two-footedness was best emphasised in another fantastic performance in a UEFA Cup game against defending champions Ipswich in 1981, turning club legend Mick Mills inside out to score 2 goals, one with each foot. Unfortunately he was also a very frustrating player, being invisible at points throughout matches, and his weekly performances sometimes weren't to the standard of his legendary big game performances. Still, an Aberdeen legend and one of the most talented Scottish players of his era.
