INFOS:José Luis Tesare was a central defender who emerged from the Boca youth system. He was the third man in defence behind Mouzo and Sá, filling in when the starters were injured like it happened in the '77 Libertadores final against Cruzeiro, or simply being a tactical option for "Toto" Lorenzo when he wanted a fast and strong defender to mark the opponent quick forwards as he did in the '77 Intercontinental Cup against Lienen and Simonsen from Gladbach. Tesare was good in marking and was a surprising mix of power, speed and quickness for someone of his stature. He also had a reliable technique and decent passing skills.
He played 83 games for Boca, scoring 3 goals and won 5 titles, being instrumental when needed in almost all of them: '76 and '81 Metropolitanos, '76 Nacional, '77 Libertadores and Intercontinental Cup.
Achievements:Champion of Argentina: 1976 Metropolitano, 1976 Nacional, 1981 Metropolitano
Copa Libertadores: 1977
Intercontinental Cup: 1977
